When enjoyed as an appetizer, there’s no need to serve your fondue with a bunch of sides—you know more food is on its way. But what about when you’re serving your fondue as a main? What should you serve it with then?
To start off, you need a variety of dipping food . . . starting with bread of course! You can opt for baguette, French, or rye. Simply cut into cubes and use a fondue fork to dip the bread into the cheesy mixture.
You can also serve raw or cooked vegetables, such as blanched broccoli or cauliflower, mushrooms, or peppers. Cooked baby potatoes are also great!
Fruit is nice with a cheese fondue also. Try it with pears, green apples, dates, and cherry tomatoes. Nuts? Absolutely. And why not ham, chorizo, veggie sausages? Then pair your meal with beer, wine, or cider . . . anything goes!
